Purpose

To support New Product Development (NPD) activities by sourcing suitable materials, components, and suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement, timely availability of materials, and coordination with engineering and production teams for smooth product development and introduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle procurement activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects.
• Identify and develop new vendors for components, raw materials, and services.
• Request and evaluate RFQ / quotations from suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
• Coordinate with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams for NPD requirements.
• Ensure timely sourcing of prototype and development materials.
• Maintain purchase orders, vendor records, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead time, and quality compliance.
• Support cost reduction and localization initiatives for new products.
• Ensure on-time availability of materials for NPD trials and pilot production.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of NPD purchase process and vendor development.
• Basic understanding of electronics components / manufacturing materials.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.

Qualification

• Diploma / BE (ECE, EEE), B. Tech / Any Degree with relevant purchase experience.
